It was an unexpectedly soggy day. The heavens opened in the minutes before the parade stepped off and participants were soaked. But nonetheless, Iota Lambda joined the many thousands of participants an spectators in presenting a festive spectacle. The chapter renewed our long-standing tradition of supporting this special weekend of HBCU football and cultural events, with a full unit of marchers, steppers, vehicles and float. Br. Bill Hornbuckle and Br. James Taylor along with Chapter President Isham J. Bennett and many other volunteers produced an eye-catching unit with not just a float - but an actual boat - appropriate for the "floating weather". Members of the Warren Township School System administration and friends provided the Alpha Ship along with very classy motorcycles as "escorts". Despite the weather the crowds showed appreciation for our efforts, and thanks are due to all Alphas who participated. After the parade, many of the Brothers and friends retired to Lucas Oil Stadium for an afternoon of football and bands, sheltered from the Indiana weather. Thanks to all who participated!
