On
the eve of its annual scholarship gala, Iota Lambda nonetheless
held a fitting tribute to Founders' Day, at a special gathering
on Tuesday, December 4. This
semi-formal celebration found an excellent turn out of Brothers
to celebrate the 101st birthday of our Fraternity and to honor
our Jewels.
In
proper Alpha and Iota Lambda fashion, remarks of welcome were
given by Br. John Davis, prayer by Br. Leslie House, and comments
by Br. President William Lindsey. An excellent meal was then shared
by the Brotherhood. Following dinner were remarks on "The
Occasion" by Br. Robert McGhee, a customary round of toasts,
a
candlelight memorial observance, and special recognitions to newly-initiated
Brothers. The evening concluded with prayer led by Br. Rev. Willie
Gholston II and singing of the Alpha Hymn. Happy 101st!
