The
famous Indiana Roof Ballroom with its Middle Eastern decor
and sky-effect ceiling gave a festive backdrop to the 33rd
Annual IUPUI Martin Luther King Day Dinner.

Alphas
were visible throughout the attendees and also were privileged
to play a part in the program. Here, IUPUI Brother Andrew
Abdul shares emcee duties. Also, Br. Rev. Oliver Dwayne Walker
(not pictured) gave the invocation and benediction.

The
keynote speaker for the evening was Roslyn M. Brock, Vice
Chair of the NAACP Board of Directors. Her comments on the
occasion, Dr. King, and his legacy brought a lengthy ovation.

Iota
Lambda President, William Crutchfield reads the proclamation/award
as Roslyn Brock looks on (left). Br Crutchfield presents the
award to Ms. Brock (at right). The text of the award is reproduced
in the text column to the left of these pictures. Br. Crutchfield
was joined at the Iota Lambda table by Brothers Bedford, Henderson,
Lindsey, McGhee, Squires, Webster, and Woodall. Two tables
of College Brothers and their guests were nearby, and a number
of individual Brothers were in attendance.

distinguished Sisters in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.,
presented their compliments and gifts to the keynote speaker
and sorority member, Roslyn Brock. The presentation pictured
at left is from the local college chapter, and at right from
the local alumni chapter.
